ST. JOHN’S, NL, August 19, 2020 – Dominion stores across Newfoundland and Labrador came together in support of the Janeway with their annual Give a Little Help a Lot campaign, raising $45,000 for the purchase of the latest in modern medical equipment, the continued education of health care staff, and research and programs directly related to our children’s health and welfare.

Despite the pandemic, the campaign went ahead this July as Dominion realized that the support is needed now more than ever. “Despite the ongoing pandemic, it is important to remember that the needs of our Janeway children continue,” said Lynn Sparkes, President & CEO, Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation. “We are fortunate to have the support of Dominion’s customers and colleagues who are so committed to ensuring that the Janeway can continue to provide the very best in pediatric care in our province.”
Matt Barnett, District Manager, Dominion, said “Our customers and colleagues are amazing, and I want to thank everyone on the front lines for making this year’s campaign so successful despite the ongoing challenges posed by COVID-19. Our store colleagues and customers throughout the province have long been proud supporters of the Janeway Foundation. As our partnership has grown and developed, we recognize the importance of being able to help provide world-class care to patients and families from across Newfoundland and Labrador.”

Give a Little, Help a Lot is a national campaign where Dominion customers are asked to donate $2 at checkout in support of their designated local charity. In addition, store colleagues organize grassroots fundraisers such as barbecues and bake sales, with proceeds from these activities added to the total.

The Give a Little, Help a Lot campaign was launched in 2013 in Newfoundland and Labrador and is part of an ongoing effort by Dominion to provide support to the Janeway Foundation. Dominion has been a dedicated supporter of the Janeway for the past seven years, raising funds annually to ensure children and their families have access to the best equipment, technology and care right here Newfoundland and Labrador.
