At just 23 days old, Karlee was rushed to the Janeway, where tests revealed two serious heart defects that were putting dangerous strain on her tiny heart. She needed life saving open heart surgery before she was one month old. Watch Karlee’s story.
After weeks of recovery and years of follow up care at the Janeway, Karlee is now nine years old and thriving. She loves competitive dance and continues regular cardiology checkups using advanced echocardiogram technology made possible through donor support to closely monitor her heart as she grows.
What are we fundraising for?
This year’s fundraising will support critical equipment across several of the Janeway’s most essential programs, including the emergency room, which serves as the pediatric trauma centre for the province; perioperative and surgical services, where every child receives care when they need an operation; and diagnostic imaging, where advanced technology helps provide the answers families are waiting foe. Every donation makes a real difference for children today and strengthens the future health of our province.
