In this role, you will report directly to the CEO, providing strategic leadership in the areas of finance and accounting.

Working with a small administrative team, you will manage financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, financial planning, risk management, internal controls, funding, and banking.

As the ideal candidate, you are a CPA with senior level financial management skills and experience. In addition to your well-developed expertise in finance and accounting, you have proven organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Most importantly, you are a strong leader who can operate easily at both the strategic and tactical levels.

This is a part-time position, with flexible working hours.

Specific Responsibilities
• Oversee all aspects of the financial operations of the organization including general accounting services, financial analysis, reporting to stakeholders (including the Board of Directors) budget planning, forecasting, and banking.
• Review and/or develop financial management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Monitor operational and financial metrics, dashboards, and reports that accurately measure financial performance and resource allocation.
• Provide change management support, participate in strategic planning, develop operating models and program plans, and assess overall financial performance of the organization.
• Prepare the annual financial statements under ASPE Part III, including all supporting working papers, and liaise with the external audit firm.

Qualifications
Post-secondary degree in Business/Accounting
Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
Minimum 5 years at a leadership level

• Expert in Not-for-Profit Accounting Standards, including the application of restricted fund accounting
• Proficient with Sage 50 Accounting software
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge, or similar client/donor relationship management software, considered an asset
• Superior interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Exemplify and encourage critical thinking
• Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
