Our Team

Due to the rapid advancements and research findings in the medical profession The Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation, through your donations, continues to fund professional development initiatives and educational bursaries – assisting to promote enhanced clinical practices, providing excellence in health care to our province’s children.

Not only does the Foundation support educational initiatives whereby hospital staff attends conferences/courses in other parts of Canada and the United States, we also support educational opportunities at home – helping to decrease the cost for Janeway staff participation.

One such course was “If You Can’t Breathe, You Can’t Function”, a much sought after educational initiative presented by Mary Massery, PT,DPT,DSc for Janeway physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech language pathologists.  Educational opportunities for these professionals are often quite expensive and usually occur off the island, incurring much travel and lodging costs.  By hosting the course here is St. John’s the participation costs were decreased, ensuring that more than 20 Janeway staff, including 4 Janeway Outreach Therapists from Gander and Corner Brook was given the opportunity to attend.

Supporting continued education not only provides additional tools to assist in the quality health care of our children, it also makes what was learned more readily available to a broader range of health care professionals.
