St. John’s, NL – The people of Newfoundland and Labrador rallied their support once again for the 2019 Janeway Telethon with a final tote board revealing a record-breaking $3,505,214. These donations ensure that the latest in diagnostic and advanced treatment technologies will be at the fingertips of the Janeway Hospital’s medical team.

Due to the success of this year’s Telethon, the Janeway Foundation will provide funds for the following, to name a few:

  • Renovation to the Therapeutic Play Garden;
  • Surgical microscope for Ophthalmic applications;
  • Ultrasound System for Emergency Department; and
  • Mental Health and Addictions program.

“It has been an incredible Telethon weekend and we are truly grateful to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador for their continued support,” said Lynn Sparkes, President and CEO, Janeway Foundation.  “On behalf of the Janeway Foundation’s Board of Directors and staff, and most importantly our province’s children and families, a sincere thank you to all our donors for choosing to support the Janeway and improving children’s health care here at home.”

“Without the support from our corporate community, donors, and volunteers, this event would not be the success it is. Together we strive to ensure that our children get the best care possible here in our province,” added Martin Sullivan, Janeway Foundation Board Chair. “Thank you to everyone involved.”
